Da Curious

is it just me or does everyone these days seem to be getting engaged? as i was browing through some people's blogs who i wouldn't necessarily consider to be my friends but more acquaintances, i came across two who are now engaged and for some reason or other, both shocked the hell out of me. one more than the other. and what's even more troubling is that both are younger than i am. seriously.

i feel like i revisit this topic every couple of months whereas it used to be once a year but is this what it's like when you're in your "late" twenties with the big 3-0 looming towards you in a couple years that you start feeling the pressure? because if it is - im definitely not looking forward to anymore birthdays.

someone said the other day that 28 is the perfect age that every woman wants to be. because it's old enough that you have your shit together and are hopefully finally settling into a career but young enough to where you can still go out and not be considered to be over the hill. who knows where this statistic came from but it brought me comfort. sad when a random statistic can make your day.

my mom did mention to me recently that she was hoping i would consider moving back to san diego soon and could live with her but if i wasn't married by 29, id be kicked out. i had to chuckle at that comment just a little...she must have been talking to her friends again.
