i went to a fob party last night. and when i say fob i do mean fob. fob as in everyone around me was speaking chinese and it was the first time that i heard chinese music being played at a club. actual chinese music...that doesn't even happen at clubs in taiwan. and to top it all off, i even danced to it. some guy rented out the entire club for his birthday and sometime in the middle of the night he got up on the stairs and started to do a little strip tease. word of advice - unless you workout and have a nice body, i would say that's probably not the greatest idea especially when you're a little skinny asian guy wearing an all white outfit.

now normally i tend to make lots of little wisecracks about fobs, but not about my favorite fob grace of course, but last night i myself became a fob. for a couple of hours anyways. and i loved it. usually i get pretty intimidated speaking chinese to many people family excluded because it's embarrassing how horrible i am at it, but once the alcohol was flowing my mandarin came tumbling out as if i had just left chinese school. not quite but you get the drift. i even made a friend. we were spewing chinese back and forth all night long and she ended up giving me her email and cell phone number. could this be my foray into the fob world? doubtful but nevertheless i think i'll go home and pull out my alex to and jackie cd's.

grace would be so proud of me. now i know the secret to hanging out with her friends, drink beforehand and i'll fit right in. until i start speaking of course. but someone actually thought my american accent was cute. now i really wish i never cheated on tests during chinese school and paid more attention.
